Speaker 1:

But you have to get to do that together with their ministry they do for the Lord and the message and spread out. And it's just a beautiful way to get a chance to relax for a moment and remember how good our bodies and we're thankful for that. You want to turn with me in your bibles to Ephesians chapter two. I'm not going to reach long today, uh, the discipline for a few minutes on what I think maybe probably the most misunderstood and, and, um, often the views doctrine in the church today, but it's a critical document for us. And it's important that we as Christians understand it correctly. Very important that we understand it in the right way. And I tell you this, if you did, you, uh, you don't know what already was, I'm sure you do, but if you don't already, this doctor has made more a difference in your life than any other doctor that I can preach to you. And it's the doctrine of grace I met. Um, and, and, and knowing and understanding what Gracie is at and what God has done for us through braces and amazing. Funny. Have and I want you to know it today, and so if you've got your bibles open to a piece of chapter two, we'll read the first nine verses together since and you he made alive who were dead in trespasses and sins in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience among whom also we all once conducted our sales and the lust of airplay edge fulfilling the desires of our flesh and the mind and were by nature, children of Wrath just as a but God who is rich in mercy because of his great love with which he loved us. Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. By grace you have been saved and raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus and in the ages to come. He might show the seeding riches of his grace in his kindness towards us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Now believe, listen, I live in this idea that when you read the script for that shouting, scream if you can read that and not be overwhelmed by the love of God that they just saying about you need revival and you need to fall back in love with that grade stage. Talking about that scripture. Paul said, I am lying by the grace of God. That wave come from. He knew what he was feeling, all those things, but he also knew that already, but I still have somewhere man. And he said, I am what I am by the grace of God. Now I believe when it comes to grace and, and I'll, I'll try to a preacher you. There's players that can to the best of my ability, but sometimes we can get lopsided. Hey man, if you go to a big picture, a guy I call the scale of it throughout word for the scale in your mind, you know, and that's kind of a way that scale on both sides. And I think sometimes when we, when we preach grace and, and, and, and we and we look at it and we go to one side or the other, we don't always preach it in the list of what it really is. And, and, and we're not balanced there. It causes problems in our Christianity causes problems. And I've offered it causes problems in our, in our salvation and all kinds of other things. So I don't go further than that. Sometimes I think we have a warped sense of who God was. Nothing. When we preach all the little side of grace and when we neglect to preach on repentance and seeing them holiness. And then when all you do is bring tom repented, seeing an honest and never preach on grades, then you only get one side who really need it on both sides. You don't need to know part of the character of that. I want you to know all of that. He has revealed himself completely to us, mainly through the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe there's some misunderstandings and I'm only going to preach to them to actually get you excited, but I'm only going to preach to me is understanding studio about grace, but the first is understanding that embrace that I want to take it is that sometimes we believe whether we want to admit it or not, that God's grace is something that we earn.

Speaker 2:

Yeah,

Speaker 1:

we believe that with all her heart sometimes and we think we aren't. There were sacrifices and through the things we do, and I'm gonna take you to the book of Micah for just a minute and read a few verses of scripture to you there because that's what happened here. Now my out, when you get to the market chapter six, he's going to say in verse three and four of God's going to speak to the people. So in my visits three and four, it says, oh, mom, anymore, what have I done to you? Did you answer before I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the House of slavery? And I sent before you Moses and Aaron and Miriam. Now, the next verses in Micah versus sixth grade that I want to read, the people answer back and I want you to listen to what they say when they want to come back to God. They want to approach God. They say, how shall the Lord and bow our sales before the high dog shat? Shall we come before the Lord with burnt offerings with Panza, a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of brands and 10,000 rivers of oil? Should I get my first born for my transgressions, the fruit of my body for the scenes of my soul, and the Prophet Michael Responds and says, he's told you, Oh man, what is good and what does the Lord require of you? But to do justly, to love mercy and the welcome lead I may have, and, and, and I want you to see what was happening there at God asked him, he said, having an unblemished you, having a, having a freed you from the slavery of Egypt have been deemed to have not been good to you. He was reminding them of his goodness. He was reminded him of His grace and his mercy, but in their hearts, all they could see was a, was a, uh, being a, a dog who was me who couldn't, who needed all these sacrifices and, and he wasn't pleased unless they gave him all their calves and rams and old burn offerings. And even to the point that they said, if you look to give you our first born son, yeah, now that sounds ridiculous, but some of those today, but we're a lot like thing. Let me tell you how we're about. We approach everybody can, our Christianity and we approach it from the viewpoint that I have to do certain things or God won't love me, man. Man, I have to do these certain things or God's going to get me rather. I'm going to get punished. Not Allen, God, the punishment. I don't want God to hate me and I don't want God to turn against me. And, and so what that shows is that sometimes in our hearts when you've, you've gone, it's just the main gone waiting for us to miss it. We view him as a main God, just waiting to miss it, mostly miss it. If you can really smell it, slam the abuse of Father Rapp who's just looking for any reason to beat on, but that's not who god has. Eskom, gracie's. That's not the way that works. So when it comes to things like these beautiful things that God has given us richly to enjoy, things like prayer. No, you're supposed to enjoy prayer. Studying the scripture. Did you know that you're supposed to enjoy reading the battle? Did you know that you're supposed to lock them in the church? You're supposed to enjoy some people, their patients from church. I eman, but you're supposed to enjoy it. Hi, this is supposed to be in the fellowship. The worship songs you heard son were songs about our golf they may have. When you hear Psalms, God is supposed to flood your soul with, with, with peace and and enjoy every day. Whew. Remember the goodness of your you and all these things that we're supposed to do, out of love and out of, and it's such a blessing to get to do them. Instead we turned them into obligation.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Hey man, these things are for our good, but we don't really have any cme for joy when we do them because we're not doing it. We're doing it because we don't talk down to them. Yes ma'am. And so sometimes it sounds like this, right? It sounds like, well I should have known that was gonna happen. I didn't pray enough. Right? Yeah. I mean after all I haven't read in a week. So why should I have experience and when listen, we tried to earn God's favor by doing certain things. We try to early. We believe that if we can just do certain things that it might make the meal dod be nicer. Right? I mean if you read enough Australian won't do anything bad. If we pray into, surely nobody in our family will get sick. Right? And then we'll do all these things all around when they will earn God's favor. And, and if we, if we joined the church and if we get bad guys and we do all these things, surely God will save us. That's not right. Can I tell you something about the Lord? Psalms, moreover, he put them up on the screen for me, if you will, of the Lord is Merciful and gracious man. I'm talking about your God. The Lord is Merciful and Gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy, and then again you should be very thankful that he. It's 86, 15, he said, but you will lower your full of compassion and gracious and long suffering and you're abundant in mercy and in truth. Listen, I'm just being honest. I'm just. You might say, well, are you going to use from top down? They just do this right here. The whole time I was married to me. Hey Man, I just want you to get the point. That's what I want more than anything else, and the point is on this first point is that some of his hand dismiss understanding of grace and we say, yeah, I believe of God's grace saved by God's grace, but when it comes to being loved by God, I have to earn it. You can't. You can't. You cannot earn that. That's not the way that it works. You're trying to earn God's favor. You're trying to earn God's respect, your time to getting to the truth be told some of the inner layer, trying to earn your salvation. You're trying to work your way into head. When you're trying to figure out how you can get in. You can't get in that way. That's not the way that it works. That's not how it goes. You don't get to go in that way. You need to stop that. Stop trying to convince God that you're worthy to be loved, stopped trying to convince stock that you're worthy of his affection and stopped trying to convince your sale that you can earn that. You can't just embrace the truth of the Gospel in listen, just just stop. Hold onto God loved you even when you were his enemy. That's the truth of the Gospel today is that God loved you so much. He loves you when you are a lovable, not because of who you will be loved him because of his love is based on his character, not on your. His compassion, his because he sells these compassion. Kindness is because he says, he's kind of God doesn't love you more. If you made 10 chapters a day, God doesn't love you more because you pray three times a day. God loved you when you were a sinner. God loved God loves you. No matter where you stand today, God's love can not be earned. God's affection can be earned and our salvation camp either we can't get there that way. God demonstrated his love. Amen. Romans five, eight and 10, but God demonstrates his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for this much more than having now been justified by his blood. We shall be saved from wrath. Groovy for you. Wow. We were once before. You were saying before you were a Christian, before you were born again, you want just. Whilst you were an enemy of God, an enemy of God, but listen, you got to hear what has gone to this new area, enemies and the. You know, he's the supreme example of that. God himself. While we were his enemies, he still the same man. He says by we were enemies. We were reconciled to God by by faithful attendance for the church. We were reconciled to God. La Libertad reconciled with God because we paid for the poor. We were generous with our money. We were kind to other people. We've prayed a diligently. We fasted. No, we were reconciled to God by the death of his son much more. Now that we've been reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. A man. Listen to me all your whole pitch to the in Jesus, all your eggs in that basket even more in the basket of will I trust in Jesus with all my heart, but just in case I'm going to do a little extra work so that I can get, make sure I get to heaven. That's trusting in yourself, trusting in your works. Either you think Jesus can save you today or you don't. They may have and if you believe crass can save you the baba lavish. She is loving grace upon you and you will. They say it takes to stop trusting in your works. Stop Trusting in your so called righteousness. Stopped trusting all those other things and start trusting in Jesus Christ alone, sale that gold, all those things and trust in Christ. Christ is the way he said, I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. No one comes to Tom. Nolan comes to the father and lists. They come through me. He said, there are thieves and robbers who tried to come in different ways. They try to figure out different ways, but they can't get into those other ways so they can make it that way. The only way is to trust in Christ. That is what grace, this don't fall for the lab that you could earn God's favor. Don't fall for no for no. Don't fall for the lie that God is waiting on you to mess up so he can strap you down or punish you. That's not the truth. You're in RAF, standing with God today. If you're a Christian not to call you, read not because you pray, not because you're a member of a church. You're in that standing with God because he put His grace on your life through the blood of Jesus Christ. That's how it was accomplished. You're in right standing with God because Jesus Christ paid for your ceilings. He did that for you, but that's what grace is. That's what it is. Romans three, 24, it says, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Amen. Galatians two and 21, I do not set aside the grace of God policy. I don't do that for if righteousness comes through the law and pass dot Ng bunny. Righteousness doesn't come through the law practice. This doesn't come through. Words rises. This comes through practice. If at this resurrection, I man, that's all been breached. That's what we believe is. That's the foundation of our faith. Our faith is built upon one thing and one thing the we've got warm anchor for our soul. It's Jesus Christ and nothing else. It's Jesus plus nothing. It's not Jesus plus church. It's not Jesus plus 30. It's not. Jesus was praying to Jesus was abandoned. It's Jesus and allow it can be any other one. So, so, so instead of going home and saying, well, you know, I've got to get out. I gotta go, I have a little bit today, or you know, I don't want to. I don't know. They, we shouldn't be able to go home if we saw the love of Christ, if we can get the vision of Christ on the cross for our sins. If we didn't understand the dance. Oh, Paul prayed and he said that you would understand the depth of the love that God has for you. If you can see the depths of the look. Do you know how much God hates sin? He hates it, but wow, you were the main culprit. He loved you. I can't even begin to describe to you the depths of the love of God for you, but if you can see it, you wouldn't look at your mouth and say, look, I already. Or do you want to get up on Sunday morning and thank you know, I really don't want to go. When you wouldn't get up on Wednesday nights and you wouldn't say, you know what? I just really. I've read, there's some other stuff you would say. God, I can't wait to get into her house to me into fellowship, but I can't wait to get in your word or be blocked some time in private and a fellowship with the person who loves me more than anybody ever could. If you don't feel those ways today, it's because you don't recognize the love that God has for you until you see it. You won't love gum. We Fall in love with Don. We realized that he first loved us. That's the way it works, and if all these things are burdensome to you and all these things are things that you wish you could lay aside, the things that you said last time to do all this stuff, because I'm so wrapped up in church, I don't have time to do all the things I want to do because I'm so wrapped up in these three chapters are get the Bible to him. Then you're looking at it a lot. You're looking at it all day. That's the first misunderstanding. There's only two, so normally it's pretty exciting. Some people will try to earn God's grace and others use God's grace as a license to him.

Speaker 2:

Hey Man,

Speaker 1:

remember I told you to picture of the Scales and I and and, and, and the problem is if I only preached what I just preached to you over and over and over again, the skills black is right. If that's all I ever told you was the never stop loving you, that God, God is always gonna preview everything you do that and that's all I ever say it, the scales with Tia, but there's more to it than just that one side of it. Right? And let me take. A lot of Christians are giving like this right here, exactly how they leave. They leave. His grace is the only thing they talk about race. The only thing they know the theater and they only know the glass taped it. They only know one side of it and they've heard about the grace of God. They heard about their inability to earn it. They believe it and I stopped trying to earn it for sure. And the theater. All they did was they begin to embrace it, to embrace it as if it was after all his greatest rap. How many times have you heard refresh to do something they shouldn't do and then and then jokingly half heartedly, so repeatedly. After all, we're not perfect. Let's get up from the mothers are not perfect just for you. We love that. Don't you just use it in what we want to do. They'll behave the way we behave, the way we want to add, and then put all the ownership back on God and say, no, you did what you said going for me and I'm going to go along the way I wanted. I may to a condition to work. You don't know how to react to the good step, but you get excited at the base.

Speaker 2:

That's good. That's good.

Speaker 1:

Come on. No matter what I do, no matter what you just told me that, that nothing can separate you from God. That's Romans chapter. Nothing can separate me from his love, so therefore I got nothing to world. Now I didn't know what happened in. I can do whatever I want. Dawn just look over everything and I'll be just fucking the way. Can I tell you today without hurting your feelings, that's the way 90 percent of the Christians related and that's exactly. That's exactly what they do that they don't have to listen. As a matter of fact, if you try to talk to them about it, they get mad at you. You don't get to judge me. You don't get to confront me. Who did he make you? All that. All the calls, they listen. They follow him from. It's a lot for hail. It's exactly what it is. Listen, it pains, rapid jude exposed it. It was in the book of Jude. He told us what the plan of the enemy with dad in the last days. He warned us that there will be a time when false teachers would kind of. These false teachers would call them sales preachers, pastors, Sunday school teachers, they man, they would call their sales by all these evangelists that college, just all these different names and they would come and they will begin to preach this doctrine of grace and grace on me, and when they did, it would turn into a license to sin. It's been the band was playing from the go, exactly what it's being, jude, verse four. Only one chapter or certain people that have crept in unaware, unnoticed, who long ago were designated for this condemnation. These were ungodly people that pervert the grace of God into lewdness or sensuality or into as the King James says, lasciviousness. They turned the grace of God into those things and denied they're only master and floor or denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. That's exactly what's happening in pulpits in churches all across the world. It's exactly what's happened. They've turned grace into this license to do whatever you want and they don't say it, but it doesn't matter how you lead and how you act, what you do doesn't. None of those things matter. Everything's acceptable as long as you got to make like maybe a couple requirements. Rap First and foremost, you've got a time. Then it's okay. That turned grace into a sleeveless, yellow. Y'all like that, and they say to you not to hit him one more time. A lot of these preachers love they're worried about, is your money not your salvation entre so lame. That's not they're most concerned about. If you're tithing, you're good. I ain't going to run you off. They want your 10 procedures. They man, they turned the grace of God into Alaskans to do. They'll let you do whatever you want. As long as you're giving long as you can on that and tell hunt you low. They'll hit her. Confront your senior. They'll never. They'll never come to you as a but Jack, can I tell you what a great disservice by not confronting the reality that that grace is more than just for you. What did Paul say? Let the politics, the Roman church, Romans six, four. What shall we say? These shall we continue in sin that Grace May abound, God forbid, or certainly not rap. How shall be that bad to see him live any longer there and then that you described yourself as a Christian. I'm a Christian. I'm being the senior policy. We're supposed to this crap that goes on. I'm to read you a big section Tuesday. Don't get. Don't get frustrated at me. It's like Salem versus right. Roman, six, six, three, 14. Knowing our old man was crucified with him, that the body is seeing how it'd be done the way we that we should now look at these words and we should no longer be slaves of sin, man, and he believed that scripture. It's just as true as for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son for he was died, has been freed from CNN. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we also live with him knowing that Christ having been raised from the dead, no more death, no longer has dominion over him for the death that he died. He died to sin, warmth and fuller. Oh Man, but the lab that he lives, he lives to God. Likewise. You should also written your sales to be dead. Indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus, Our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should it in lust and do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness to God for cme. Sharon all had the minion over you. You are not under the law, but what are you here? Can you see clearly? Paul is saying, grace is not a license for you to go on sinning. When we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, we can. We can face that God raised him from the dead. We are free from the power of sin in our lives. We already agree. We're set free from that. We're no longer in bondage to sin. I am a man. I mean you're having a hard time believing me today, but I want you to because this is important that you know this. What I'm preaching to you right now, flies in the face of this cheat grass doctrine that's out there,

Speaker 3:

ma'am.

Speaker 1:

That's why it's uncomfortable because all we've heard, all of her life is just come to Jesus and accept the Lord and make a decision for Christ and get saved and get baptized in the church and said here, and not go long, but there's more to our salvation than me. There's more to the Lord the Manor. There's more grace than that. There's more than those things. We're not just simple behavior. There is a thing. There is such a thing in your Bible and His Holiness.

Speaker 3:

Yeah,

Speaker 1:

and the Bible says there is a hole in this without which no man shall see the Lord. There is a how is that you need to have. It's an error. The God's grace is touch drive that you've been set free from sin. Listen, when we were seniors, we serve them with our mind, our heart, our honest, but if we'd been freed from that, we found Christ and washed by the blood being born again of the spirit of God. Then we're set free from sin. That's the spiritual reality. Whether or not it, whether or not it's your life, your life is you're really what the Bible says it should be. That's all that matters. All that matters. You said, well, that's not been my experience, that you've had her own speed because I was not alone. You are right. The way that it goes. That's the truth for all those. We serve the savior who's defeated sooner. We serve a savior who crushed it, unreasonable, nailed to his cross and rose victorious over top of it. He's got the median of overall things in the Bible says all authority and all power has been given to him. That's the dog he served. That's the savior that we worship. That's what we did better. He is to actually pray to. That's who we seem to. That's who we preach about. Now. He wants her bit for those things because that wrapped there, but I just describe defeating, defeating death rising again, Greg and eternal life is all things that you couldn't do on your own. That's things that somebody had to do for you. There's only one person who has been ordained from the beginning to accomplish it, and it's Jesus Christ arrive without a pre the Egyptians from agent. It's just that way. God has freed Christians. The power that this world has over he's brought us out of that we no longer have to live in the flesh. When we were sinners, we have one option live in the flesh. That's the only option. Now as Christians, we can live and walk in the spirit, so different lamp. It's a different world and we know the truth is Christians. If we can, we have an advocate with the man, Jesus Christ, the righteous, and I love the way that he phrased it. If we see not the assertion isn't that you believe in seeing them and ask forgiveness. The assumption is that you avoid at all costs, but if you fall into a temptation and a trap and you ended up seeing, then you have an advocate with the father you can go to, he'll forgive you because of the grace that he can say, man, it's not the way that many people preach it. It's not the way that many Christians are living. That's the power of grace, that salvation is the result of grace, but the power of Christ, His Holiness, and for me just the word holiness, you made me think. Legal is the first thing that if you don't know what that word means, that just means that you think I'm trying to put you back on the ball. That, but that's not at all what I want to do. Right? Listen, the world will tell you today that any statement, any moral, any preaching of any commandments, is legally as well. That's what they want you to believe, but it's not love. It's not what Jesus said, Greg, I'm going to show that to you. It's, it's happened once. There was a man who came to this church and listen to me preach it from times and he rebuked me and that's okay. I'm on another rebuke Imam. I can make mistakes, but he came in and reviewed me and he said he wasn't rude at first. He said he'd be saying that I was wrong to that I was wrong. That only thing I needed to focus on was grace. That's where my focus should be, and I prayed about that and when I talked to him about it, and again I told him that I disagree and then it wasn't as Ct. In any event he told me that I was abusing the flock of god, that I was tearing them down, that I was killing them right and, and, and, and he broke all ties with me. He would speak anymore when he dIdn't want to answer. If you didn't want to talk anymore that because okay, he said the other day, but he didn't want to hear the other side of grace. The only one side, the only one to know the part that say need more and everything will be fine. He wanted a cheap, easy salvation, but our salvation is not cheap. It's great. He had his two old stuff. Titus two verses 11 through 13. For the grace of god that brings salvation has appeared to all men. Barely is again the grace of god. the same grace he clarIfied. It's the grace that brings salvation. They may have seen it, the grace of god that brings salvation has appeared to all men teaching us something that we should deny ungodliness and rolling with us, that we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age, and that we should look for the west of hope and the glorious appearing of our great god and savior jesus christ. The reality is that the grace of god brings us salvation and there's nothing we could ever do earn it. There's nothing we could ever do to earn that. Nothing we could ever do be good enough to be safe. If you're here this morning and you're lost and you never professed, crashing, never been born again. There's not no single thing that you can do today that will make you qualified for south asian. Nice to Get a dog he made when there wasn't, he made. He sent his only son in the back. He sent hIs only son. He lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin. He did a sinless life, died on our behalf, and he rose again victorious over death and now he ever leaves. Make intercession for. We'll put our faith and believe in him. He said, it's by grace that you've been saved through faith, through that belief, when you make the decision to believe that truth and when you come to the place, when god knocks on your heart and when god says to you, I'm here. That's my son, and if you believe on him, you can be saved and he reveals to you your samples and you'll put your trust in him. He will be saved, will be saved, and he'll keep you. He'll take care of you and he'll walk all over you and it won't be perfect. Nothing ever is nothing. Nothing in this world is perfect. You're not going to have a sinless perfection, but you're going to have a new lab and you're going to have a new hope and you're going to have eternal life. The same grace that god sends to to teach us that salvation, that the same grace that he gives us, that we're safe then begins to work in her lap. Salvation that comes just simply through five, but then that grace begins to do the work and that grace begins to terrorists are little bit at a time, as rough as that sounds. He begins to work and it begins to deal and it begins to teach us that we're supposed to leave a man. God was prescribed all kinds of methods for that. He gave us the bible believe that tells us how we're supposed to be and he's given us churches to be a part of what we do here. The preached word of god and he went through the preaching and the teaching in a local church. God works in the hearts of these people, these children, and he begins to work in you that life and and and grace begins to break all the chains of sin in our lives and census free so that we conserve, not they meant and it teaches us that we had. We can deny these ungodly things that god hates about us. We can deny those things from our flesh and it's gracious love and mercy that he shows us what those things are and peaches as those times. So that we can begin to live here, ma'am. And then he says, we can deny the worldly lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of why we didn't get rid of that can live soberly, righteously godly rob. Now, now, sometime in the future he says, with brace on your side, you can do it right now, and he's teaches us. Grace begins to make this the center heart of something that's coming and pad is 2:13. There was, if you saw it, he said, it begins to. It begins to swell and our hearts that we begin to look forward for the glorious appearing of our site and our mind.
